Premarital Counseling

Why should you be interested in Preengagement or Premarital Counseling?

° About 50% of couples just like you eventually divorce. Counseling will show you how to avoid that path!

° Most people are not 100% sure they are marrying the right person. Counseling can help you make a wise decision.

° You want to live happily ever after, but aren't sure if it's possible. Counseling can reveal future struggles you may have.

How long does it take?

° There is no set time period. However, I recommend a minimum of ten session. Due to the nature of issues that may arise, it is suggested to receive counseling even before the engagement period.

Preengagement or Premarital Counseling with Veronica Johnson is not a relationship class that offers general information which may or may not apply to you. This is about your relationship, the strengths that you have to offer and the challenges that you'll want to be aware of!

My goal in premarital counseling is to prepare the couple for what marriage is truly like, and then continually ask the question, "Are you prepared for and committed to handling whatever might happen in marriage with this person at this time in your life?"

In order to best envision what marriage may present for each specific couple, I listen to their stories as individuals and then to their story as a couple. I listen for patterns and differences which will most certainly present themselves after marriage. We spend time exploring, with eyes wide open, what realistically might lie ahead for the couple.
